Breaking - First Plot Description for Marvel's "Generations"

A little Amazon browsing this morning revealed the first description for Marvel's mysterious "Generations" project.

There's been much speculation on what Marvel's Alex Ross teaser image (pictured above) could indicate for the Marvel Universe. Many, displeased by the displacement of their old favorite characters in favor of new diverse characters, hope the image indicates a return to Marvel's traditional heroes. Those on the other side of the fence see in the image a continuation of the Marvel's dedication to legacy characters.

What I find really interesting about this summary is that it characterizes Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man as heroes of the past. "Once upon a time", "they became", etc. Conversely, the phrasing of "Today...the Marvel Universe's greatest champions unite and charge headlong into tomorrow." heavily implies that today's young heroes (specifically the superteam of the Champions, who represent those new characters) are still Marvel's future.

With rumors swirling that all of Marvel's old characters will return this fall, this summary gives me hope that the new batch won't be forgotten about - and will in fact, continue to play a large role.

What do you think? Does this indicate a Champions-heavy future for Marvel or perhaps just one that still includes the team? Is this a passing of the torch to the next generation, or the young heroes' last hurrah? We will be sure to update this story when new information comes to light.
